What’s an ”Interactive Energy Grid™”?
Common micro-grids are small-scale versions of the centralized electricity system (the public “grid”). Cogeneration Systems
Micro-Cogeneration is an ideal energy source for estate properties with large swimming pools or for commercial clients that have a need for an economical heat and energy source. Cogeneration systems are a reliable, very low-cost per KWH/BTU energy source. Cogeneration, also known as Combined Heat & Power, is the production of heat and electricity from a single source of fuel. Only recently has this technology been scaled for residential use with the introduction of Micro-Cogeneration systems ranging in size from 5 - 35kW. These systems are powered by a small natural gas (or propane) fueled internal combustion engine or a small gas turbine. Micro-cogen systems are highly efficient at generating electricity and capturing heat that would otherwise been wasted converting it into useful thermal energy. The heat generated by the small engine that produces the electricity is used to heat water using a heat exchanger, the hot water can then be used for domestic hot water, house radiant heating systems, as well as pool and spa heating.

Why a Cogeneration System, isn’t solar a better alternative?
While the sun only shines during the day, a cogeneration system can work 24/7/365. True a large Solar PV array combined with a large battery based energy storage system could provide the energy to run a household 24/7. However, many properties simply do not have adequate space or solar exposure for a big enough PV array.
